Remember this post? Well, somebody bought me this book to add to my summer reading list. And I have to tell you … I’m quite excited to read it. Why? Three reasons:
1. I’m really looking forward to reading it so that I properly rip it a new one in my tiny corner of the blog-o-sphere. I fully intend to unleash my fury on it … unless of course, by some shocking miracle, it is actually decent.
2. There are illustrations. And while it shouldn’t, it does make me a little happy to see Lizzy Bennett round kick a zombie in the face.
3. These two sentences about the “authors”: JANE AUSTEN is the author of Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Mansfield Park, and other masterpieces of English literature. SETH GRAHAME-SMITH once took a class in English literature.
Obviously Seth has a good sense of humor so maybe there is a glimmer of hope for this book after all!
So that is book #1 on my summer reading list. What is on your list?

Hi, Lori! I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy keeping up with your blog. I started following when my friend moved out to Vegas.
My husband planted a church here in the suburbs of Atlanta 5 years ago after co-leading at an established church in Ohio for 8 years…so I’m always looking for encouragement and someone who can make me laugh and be a reminder of the fun in the midst of the madness. Your blog has done that for me!
Thanks for your honesty and willingness to share with us your joys and struggles. God has used you in my life and for that I am so thankful!
First book on my list is the Nicholas Sparks book that I started at Thanksgiving. Why did I even bother trying to start reading a book during the school year? Lori, I’m thinking that you’ve convinced me to try the Twilight series. I also might read The Shack.
I bought three books last week: The Help (a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of servants in the south), Holly’s Inbox (the new Bridget Jones…?), and The Observations (about a former prostitute in 1700s England who now works in a manor house in the country). Looking forward to some “saucy” reading!!
Holly–Twilight series is a definite winner!
i think youre going to like the pride and prejudice and zombies. i heard an interview from the author and it sounded really cool (and creative) i havent picked out my summer reading yet. need to find a few good books.
Yes … Holly you HAVE to read Twilight and then report back into me and let me know what you think.
Tiff … I think I might have to borrow that new Bridget Jones book when you are done!
And Foster … I think you must be very sick and very bored to comment on my Pride Prejudice & the Zombies post. I’m sorry for you! But if it will make you feel better, I’ll load you my book when I’m done.
i just got Pride and Prejudice in the mail today when we got home from vacation! can’t wait to rip into it… maybe this version will be next!
keep me posted!
holly… definitely read twilight!!!
