If you’ve been around here for a while, you might remember my friend, Donna Politz and I scouring Miami trying to find a henna tattoo place. In the end, we had to settle for very sad airbrushed tattoos.
But yesterday, we followed through on our 8 month quest. These are our lovely Henna tattoos on our arms.

I’m too wimpy to ever get a real tattoo, but if I ever did I would go for a butterfly on my foot.
It has been a while since I’ve asked … so, do you have any tattoos? Do tell … what and where? Or if you are like me and probably won’t ever follow through, what would you get if you got brave enough.

No, I’m too much of a wimp.
If I did, it would be on my hip.
I have a few. Apparently I’m big on Hebrew so I have 3 in Hebrew. 2 on the inside of my wrists and one on my forearm. I would like to get a couple more I think, but I am still working on convincing my wife to get one! We are almost there! Maybe I need to get her a Henna tattoo first. Hmmm…
I have a gothic cross on my big toe and my lips on my butt (you know the country song lyrics “kiss this… and I dont mean on my rosy red lips…” well, it was funny at the time and no one sees it! haha! my mom thought the one on my toe was a joke and she thought the one on my but was hilarious!
No tattoos….but I have done the henna thing and I thought I was a rock star with that on my foot!
3 of my brothers and sisters have tattoos…….my brothers are crazy creative. One of them struggled all through school, but is now very successful in the graphic art world. He has a long rectangular square on his arm…..represents “Thinking outside the box”. My sister has a cross on her inner foot to represent standing firm on Christ alone and to remind her to let Him direct her footsteps.
Needles?? No thank you, but I’ll do the henna thing any day of the week!!
No tattoos …. yet … but I’m seriously thinking of getting my first one this summer. I was just thinking today that I need to go by the tattoo shop and get a quote. I think mine would be simple and quick. No surprise to those who know me that I’m a big Disney fan. Walt has hidden a Mickey on every ride. I’m going to hide a Mickey on me . . . where no one will see it except my honey. It will just be the round silhouette of Mickey’s head and ears.
Nope. First Marc would have a stroke and second I don’t like pain or the sight of blood! If I did (which I won’t) it would be something crazy like Mickey Mouse. LOL
Jud would have a stroke too Cyndi!
Angie and Cyndi … you should get together and talk about your love of all things Disney!
I have this http://www.femailcreations.com/products/product.aspx?sku=46106 on my lower back. my sister and I each have it.
I am wanting to get 2 more but not exactly sure of what. It took me like 4 years to find the exact 1st one I wanted.
I have 1 tat on my shoulder blade…a dolphin I decided would be best to symbolize my time in the submarine service…Now, I’d like to get 3 more, to add to the loner, symbolizing my family…and somehow, I would love to be able to intertwine the dolphins with scripture…
as for the pain, imagine a sunburn…it’s similar to that type of pain…
what you can do is meditate & pray…it gives you a great opportunity to focus on your life…
and whatever you choose, before you get it, think of its meaning, and also reflect on your life…perhaps fast the day before for clarity on the choice.
and try to visualize what it will look like in 40 years on you…’cause it’s there forever
No way, not interested in anything permanent that will grow/sag with age! My family members have them, I just can’t commit to that. For that matter, I’m not even brave enough to color my hair and that grows out!
I have one a ladybug for good luck on my right hip on the front. My right side because of all my physical issues. I have 2 more planned one on my right foot the perfect hand in pinucle(spelling) and under it my grandma’s initals and date of death. Then I would like on my lower back a star gazer lilly with vines and on one side sitting on the vine a ladybug (for my daughter) and on the other hanging from the vine a monkey (for my son).
I hate needles but when I got my first one it didn’t hurt it felt like someone scrapping me, no blood either. I know both the places I have pick for my next ones will hurt a lot.
Enjoy your henna tattoo you’ll be wanting more. I promise.
@ Temre…you are definitely correct…tattoos whether henna or needled ’spread’…you’ll always have an urge to get more
No tatoos…they don’t do it for me…but i’ve been seriously considering a nose diamond!! my son finally agrees, so we’ll see if i follow through…now my feat is to get over the idea of doing such a crazy thing at the ripe old age of 37…is that too old?? i’m thinking i can be sassy til the day i go to live with jesus!
My husband Josh has several tattoos: a tribal cross on his entire back, a tribal lion on his thigh, a crown of thorns around his left arm, our “Pursuit” cross on his right calf, and right now he is working on a half sleeve on his right arm. He also has his wedding ring tattooed on. He did it a while ago, it is a trinity knot with a heart. He wanted me to do it too, but I didn’t want to get rid of my ring. So I told him I would tattoo it on the inside of my left wrist. I had an appointment set up for the past year, but had to cancel it because of my pregnancy. I am hoping to do it sometime this fall though. I think it is the only tattoo I will get. The only other thing that is appealing to me is a maybe three stars on my foot for my 3 kids. We will see….
My friends, Lori and Donna!!! You guys finally found them!! OK, I am a little jealous now. But you look maaaavalous!

I have a Chicago Cub’s tattoo on my left shoulder blade. They are having their worst season in years, but now I’m stuck with them!
I have TWELVE FOUR tattooed on top of my foot — the day I escaped from a cult and 9 years later the day I got sober
I have a circular wave pattern the size of a quarter on my ankle. I also have a celtic cross on my left shoulder blade. Love them both; had them for 10 plus years and don’t regret them…despite the fact that my mother constantly says, “Some day you are going to regret those. ”
